Local Chapters · Start a chapter

Start a chapter

A chapter anchors the Cyberdelic Society in a city: a place where technology, consciousness, art and community meet in person. You are not just starting a group. You are anchoring a cultural movement where you live.

What a chapter is

A cultural lab, locally led

Local chapters are semi-autonomous cultural labs. Each adapts the Cyberdelic Society's vision to its own city, and stays connected to every other chapter through the Nexus core.

Start with what is there. A chapter prototypes any experience aligned with the vision and grows with its local capacities: even a single headset or a projector is enough to begin.

  • Salons
  • Film nights
  • Rituals
  • Showcases
  • Tech demos
  • Research meetups
  • Sound journeys

The role

A chapter lead is a cultural steward and a system weaver.

An initiator and a weaver, not a bureaucrat. A lead hosts a public offering every two to three months, keeps a channel open with the Nexus core and joins the monthly global sync.

Foundational pillars

Every chapter aligns with four pillars

01

Cyberdelic culture

Conscious design meets expanded states.

02

Community building

Radical hospitality, co-creation and mutual support.

03

Experience curation

Immersive gatherings, salons, showcases and dojos.

04

Decentralised stewardship

Locally led, globally interconnected.

Gatherings

The kinds of experience the Society has been running

A chapter can host any of these, or invent its own: salons, film nights, rituals, research meetups, sound journeys.

01

Cyberdelic Showcase

Showcases of VR and AR, audiovisual art and experimental technology.

02

Cyberdelic Symposium

Thought leadership: experts and practitioners explore the field's key themes together.

03

Cyberdelic Incubator

Focused hackathons: developers, artists and consciousness explorers prototype cyberdelic ideas in a limited time and leave with demos.

04

Cyberdelic Online Summit

Virtual conferences with speakers, fireside chats, interactive sessions, webinars and digital exhibitions.

The principles

What a chapter lead agrees to

Every chapter works under a written agreement with Cyberdelic Nexus LLC, the Chapter Lead Collaboration Agreement. These are its principles in plain words.

  1. 01

    What a lead commits to

    • Uphold the shared ethos, the Code of Ethics and the Code of Conduct. The Code of Conduct is shared with you in the kit once your application is approved.
    • Keep an active channel with the Nexus core, and join the monthly global sync.
    • Host at least one public offering every two to three months.
    • Report the chapter's income and expenses, with receipts.
  2. 02

Events and projects are agreed first

    • Every event or project in the Nexus's name is approved in writing by the Nexus before it goes ahead.
    • The chapter's structure, rules and communications stay in line with the Nexus Charter, the Code of Ethics and the Code of Conduct.
  3. 03

    The name and the marks

    • “Cyberdelic Nexus”, “Cyberdelic” and the logos belong to Cyberdelic Nexus LLC.
    • A lead uses them only for the chapter's approved work, following the brand guidelines, and never for personal gain or fundraising of their own.
  4. 04

The titles a lead may use

    • A lead is a “Chapter Lead” or a “Steward”.
    • Never “Founder”, “Co-founder”, “Partner”, “Owner” or an executive title of the Nexus, on any profile, card or page. A lead is an independent collaborator.
  5. 05

    Clear on duty

    • No drugs or alcohol during Nexus events or while on chapter duties.
  6. 06

    Confidentiality

    • What either side shares in confidence stays confidential, during the collaboration and for five years after it.
  7. 07

    What is created

    • The materials, media and other work created under the agreement belong to Cyberdelic Nexus LLC.
  8. 08

    A review every quarter

    • Every three months the Nexus reviews the collaboration: participation, what was done and whether the agreement is kept.
  9. 09

    How it ends

    • Either side can end it with 30 days' written notice.
    • The Nexus can end it with ten days' notice after a quarterly review, or at once for a serious breach such as misuse of the name or conduct that harms the network.
    • At the end, equipment and materials go back, the name and marks are no longer used, and chapter content comes down within seven days.

These principles are a summary, not the agreement. The agreement is the binding text: the team sends it to you after reviewing your application, and it is signed outside this site. It is governed by the laws of Texas.
